The condition of things

Douglas Scholes
These images* reflect the condition of thing despite that they (almost) never remain that way for long.  Things are changed through on going efforts to repair, clean, collect or maintain.  Yet, they proliferate the urban environment, ‘growing’ and spreading rapidly and often excessively.  The results of maintenance and of neglect are part of the pragmatic aesthetic, unconsciously affecting experiences, expectations and perceptions through the condition of things.
*There are seventy-eight (78) images on this page.
